By Car
Arriving from the Motorway A1 exit at FIRENZE SUD (at km.300.9). Continue straight through the junction, following VIA MARCO POLO and you will head towards the city and across the river Arno. Just after crossing the river turn left and continue along with the river on your left, this is LUNGARNO ALDO MORO, which becomes LUNGARNO COLOMBO and then LUNGARNO DEL TEMPIO. At the last traffic lights, you have to turn right onto VIA GIOVANNI AMENDOLA, keep carefully to the left and at the next lights turn left onto VIA DUCA DEGLI ABRUZZI and just after turn again to the left onto VIALE DELLA GIOVANE ITALIA, heading back towards the river. Stay in the left lane and as you turn left you will continue along LUNGARNO PECORI GIRALDI, swing right onto the bridge, PONTE SAN NICCOLÒ, crossing the river. At the end of the bridge turn right onto LUNGARNO CELLINI, go past the traffic cameras and continue straight along LUNGARNO CELLINI, which becomes LUNGARNO SERRISTORI and then, passing the next bridge, past the traffic cameras, straight onto LUNGARNO TORRIGIANI. Pass the traffic cameras on VIA DE’ BARDI and continue straight into via de’ Barbadori. Immediately take the small street on your right, VIA DE’ BELFREDELLI and you have arrived at PONTE VECCHIO SUITES & SPA. We recommend you park in the “Lungarno” parking garage which is at the end of the small road on the right and only 10 meters from our entrance.
Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL)
As in many Italian city centers, the historic center of Florence is closed off to most traffic to keep the streets free for pedestrians. There is some traffic but only of local residents and others with special permits. The whole area is marked as a zone of limited traffic (known as the ZTL, “zona a traffico limitato”).
As the Ponte Vecchio Suites & Spa is in the historic heart of Florence it lies inside this zone.
Entry by car into the ZTL is tracked by special cameras. You can travel with your own car only with permission and this involves communicating with the hotel your license plate number and time of arrival.
Every time you want to drive into the zone you must tell hotel reception in advance your license number and the time you will be driving in. If our staff has not been informed, and are therefore unable to communicate in time to the proper authorities, your entry to the ZTL will be considered unauthorized and you will be sanctioned appropriately.
It is forbidden to drive into the ZTL from 1st January 2019, from 00.00 to 24.00, Monday to Sunday, for mopeds, motor vehicles and cars registered as EURO 1 petrol and EURO 2 diesel.
By Train
The main train station of Florence – Santa Maria Novella – is just 1 km from our hotel.
You can take a taxi (about €8 - €12), or the bus (number “D”), or walk (about 15 minutes).
We can also arrange private transportation for you, just let us know.
By Air
The airport of Florence – Peretola – is about 8 km from the hotel.
You can take a taxi (about €25-€30) or by public transport to the main train station.
There is no direct train service from the airport, only bus. The airport at Pisa – Galileo Gallilei – is larger and is about 65km away. It is served by bus and train via Pisa central to Florence’s main train station or by the “Terravision” bus (about €6).
